Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Do all hearing aids come with bluetooth?

Most devices now are bluetooth hearing aids. However, some models require a seperate bluetooth device.

How long does a hearing test take?

Typically 45 minutes. If you need hearing aids the appointment will be closer to an hour and a half to two hours, allowing enough time for the fitting.

Do you take walk-ins?

Yes, aside from holidays, we will take walk-ins anytime Monday through Friday from 9am to 5pm.

Do you sell supplies?

Yes, we carry disposable and rechargeable batteries, wax guards, tubing, dryer kits, battery testers, cleaning brushes, cleaning wires, and oil.

How long do hearing aids last?

Typically, they come with a 2 or 3 year warranty. However, they can last for 5 years, sometimes longer if the wax is cleaned out consistently. It is best to clean your aids weekly to prevent wax and debris buildup. This might include changing the wax filters, if your aids have them. Click here for a video on how to change the wax filters.

How often should I come in for check ups?

Every 3-4 months, unless you need ear wax removal more often, in that case we suggest every 1-2 months.

How often should I have my hearing tested?

It is best to be tested annually. Our hearing can change with time and life experience.

Will I get to try the hearing aids when I come in for my test?

Yes, we usually have enough in stock for you to try some the same day.

Do you sell custom ear plugs?

Yes, we have custom ear molds for swimming, surfing, musicians and of course, hearing aids.

If my hearing loss is minimal, do I really need hearing aids?

It is advised to wear hearing aids in most cases because you do not want to lose more of your hearing, including losing some ability to recognize words. If someone has already lost a portion of their ability to recognize words and they choose not to wear hearing aids, their ability to understand words will become worse over time.

How much do you charge for wax removal?

Ear wax removal is $15 per ear.
